"Silhouette" Barman Art Gallery, Montreux, CH

Pierre-Olivier Barman & Elena Berg Österdahl Barman Art Gallery, Montreux

Two artists, born with their eyes on the horizon – one by the sea, the other in the heart of the shores of Lake Geneva – meet in a dialogue about form, memory and the presence of nature. In the exhibition SILHOUETTE, their works weave together in a poetic conversation where the lines of the landscape and the voice of materials take center stage.

Pierre-Olivier Barman, based in Montreux, paints the Swiss Alps and Lake Geneva with a sensitivity focused on the soul of the places. His oil paintings, at times almost abstract, reveal familiar silhouettes – an inner landscape that hovers between reality and dream. Through shades of grey and layered colors, he creates depth and stillness.

Elena Berg Österdahl comes from the island of Gotland, where the horizon is low but infinite. In her metal sculptures, enriched with a living patina, robustness and fragility coexist. The forms of nature inspire her work, which weaves together hardness and grace, precision and feeling.

From the coast to the peaks of the Alps, from steel to oil – in the meeting between these two artists a common silhouette is born. The image of something larger, a connection between place and poetry.
